Men's Basketball Herbster Named USD President

VERMILLION, S.D. - The South Dakota swimming and diving teams will have one final tune-up as they prepare for the Summit League Championships this weekend when they compete at the Minnesota Challenge in Minneapolis, Minn. The two-day event begins Friday and concludes Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The meet is the final competition for the Coyote teams prior to the conference meet. Last time out: Stoddard and Moceri Lead Coyotes at North Dakota Senior Thad Stoddard and junior Shannon Moceri each won two events to lead the South Dakota swimming and diving teams at North Dakota Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D. The Coyote men lost, 170-117 while the women dropped a 188-111 dual. Stoddard (Douglas, Wyo.) won the 100 backstroke at 50.51 - just .17 seconds away from the school record he set and the fourth-fastest Summit League time this season - and captured the 100 butterfly at 50.89. Stoddard was also the third leg of the Coyotes' winning 200 medley relay, which won with a time of 1:34.64. That consisted of senior Terry Rolfe (Newcastle, Wyo.), freshman Jake Tempesta (Apple Valley, Minn.), Stoddard and senior Dane Van Arkel (Colorado Springs, Colo.). |
